Joining a Multiplayer Session (Coming Soon)
Multiplayer sessions are not yet available in Master of Lore, but once the feature is launched, here’s how players will be able to join and experience collaborative storytelling:
How It Will Work
- Session Invitations: You’ll receive invitations from friends or party leaders. Invitations may be shared via a direct link, a party code, or through the in-app party management system.
- Quick Join: Players will also be able to browse open sessions, filtered by world, difficulty, or playstyle, and join directly with a single click.
- Character Selection: Before entering, you’ll confirm which of your characters is joining the session. Your character’s background, skills, and quirks will influence the role you play in the party’s story.
Inside the Session
- Shared World, Multiple Voices: The AI Loremaster will narrate and adapt the mission based on the combined actions of all participants. Expect moments of cooperation, debate, and even conflict when decisions diverge.
- Public or Private Dialogue with the Loremaster: Players will be able to choose whether they want to address Loremaster publicly (so all party members can see the request) or privately (so only Loremaster responds, without revealing intentions to the rest of the group). This opens the door to secrets, intrigue, and hidden motives, key elements of some role-playing settings.
- Player-to-Player Private Chats: In addition to group interactions, players will also be able to exchange private messages with one another. While the group is generally expected to cooperate, private communication makes it possible to plot, negotiate, or share hidden information, enhancing immersion in universes where mistrust or betrayal are part of the gameplay.
- Persistent Progress: Every action you take—whether as a group or individually—will be remembered. If you leave and rejoin later, the session will continue seamlessly with your past contributions intact.
- Flexible Play: Join from PC, tablet, or mobile. Sessions are designed to allow short drop-in interactions as well as extended group play.
Why It Matters
Joining a multiplayer session transforms Master of Lore from a solo adventure into a living group story. It blends the flexibility of AI-driven narrative with the spirit of a tabletop RPG session, while also leaving space for secrecy, alliances, and intrigue between players—just like at a real role-playing table.
