Can I choose which Ability to use?

Yes. In many cases, Loremaster suggests an Ability check. However, if you think another Ability fits better, you can open the Use Ability menu and select it manually.

This allows you to adapt creatively to situations—for example, using Performance to distract guards instead of Fighting.
